          <datacite:description descriptionType="Other">本研究における２種類のアンケート調査では、宿泊施設および旅行社・航空会社（n=84）の利用客の傾向は、外国人利用客が少ないにも関わらず、大部分の企業が従業員の外国語人材育成の必要性を強く感じている結果が示された。政府および県も外国人観光客誘致を推進しているが、各企業における実際の外国語人材育成は研修、教材、指導者、カリキュラム等において、充分に整備されていないことを回答結果は示している。また、従業員の韓国語や中国語については、ほとんどの企業で充分に対応能力がないことを調査結果は表わしている一方、英語については、従業員の対応能力にばらつきがあり、全体的に充分であるとは言い難い。さらに、外国語人材育成の必要性を大部分の企業が認識しているにも関わらず、一部の企業を除いては採用や給与面に反映されていない結果となっている。アンケート調査後に、補完的に実施されたインタビュー調査の結果によると、外国人利用客からの相対的な利益の低さや、外国語能力の高いスタッフの不足、外国人利用客取扱い企業が少ない、従業員の外国語能力への人事評価の低さなどが指摘された。</datacite:description>
          <datacite:description descriptionType="Other">This study, using two types of questionnaires conducted regarding accommodations, travel agencies and airline companies (n=84) showed that the companies had a strong need for staff development for foreign language abilities, despite few foreign tourists. Also, the government is striving to attract foreign tourists to Okinawa. However, the questionnaire results showed that workshops, materials, instructors and curriculum construction regarding foreign language education are not well taken care of. In addition, the results showed that Chinese and Korean language abilities of the staff were very low, while English ability of the staff varied. Although most companies admit a strong need of staff with foreign language abilities, this was not considered regarding recruiting and deciding on salary for staff. The follow-up interview of government tourism official indicated problems such as a relative lack of economical benefits from foreign tourists, a lack of staff with high foreign language abilities, a lack of companies dealing with foreign tourists and low assessment for foreign language abilities.</datacite:description>
