Characteristics of Exchange Activities Between Okinawans and Americans Under the U.S. Military Government 米軍政府下のアメリカ人と沖縄の人々の交流の型と特徴 Nakachi, Kiyoshi metadata only access 名桜大学 The people of Okinawa had an unhappy history from 1945 to 1972 while under U.S. military government rule. However, during that time, they were able to learn about Americans and their culture. The period of U.S. occupation thus offered a unique opportunity for learning about American democracy as well as engaging in cultural exchange activities with Americans.
