| 内容記述 | When learners commit to the goal of second language acquisition, they direct their attention to the second language (L2). Second Language Acquisition researchers use various terms when examining attention: attention to form, consciousness-raising, noticing, noticing the gap, selective attention hypothesis, selective attention, paying attention, and selecting and directing function. This research often focuses on how language tasks, learners, and instruction affect learners' attention to content and form. It is not clear which language tasks affect content and which affect form. More than the tasks, learners themselves seem to be able to determine whether they will attend to content, form, or both. Because classroom instruction seems to affect what learners pay attention to, researchers and teachers should seek ways to help learners pay attention to content and form so learners can become more successful in acquiring the L2. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 学習者が第二言語を習得するには、その第二言語に注目しなければならない。第二言語習得の研究者は、注目を吟味する時様々な言葉を使う:attention to form, consciousness-raising, noticing, noticing the gap, selective attention hypothesis, selective attention, paying attention, and selecting and directing function｡ 学習者は、内容、形式に注目することができる。例えば学習者が内容だけに注目した時、文法の間違いを起こす。または、学習者が形式だけに注目した時、文法の間違いは少ないが、言いたいことが、流暢に伝わらない。研究者は言語のタスク、学習者、教育が学習者の内容と形式の注目こどのような影響を及ぼすか、研究している。どのタスクが、学習者の内容と形式の注目に影響を及ぼすか明らかではない。しかし学習者自身はタスクより内容、形式またはその両方の注目を決定できるように思われる。教育は学習者が何を注目するかということに影響を及ぼす。そのため研究者や教師は、学習者が内容と形式に注目できるように効果的な方法を考える必要がある。 | |||||
