The water sample at one site contained 2 mgL^<-1> of nitrate and showed higher COD than other samples. Limestone bedrock was observed not only on the surface of the beach around this site but also underground between this site and the backshore. COD of the sediment samples from 4 sites on the shoreline of this beach was also measured, and the values were in the range of 0.8～1.4 mgOL^<-1>, showing no apparent pollution.
