Interestingly, the excavated items, which we can study today thanks to the series of excavations conducted so far in and around the castle, indeed suggest that the view once advocated by Iha is partially correct. However, the ethnic background of the medieval force of Nakijin reflected in this archeological record is of neither Korean nor Chinese origin, contrary to what Iha once inferred, Instead there is an apparent connection with an equestrian people of Iranian stock named Alan or As coming from the central part of Eurasia.
