We analyzed students' written reports on what they had learned about how the elderly spend their days. We identified 150 activities, divisible into 10 categories and 27 subcategories. This method improves student understanding of the Quantity and quality of daily life among the elderly, and is useful (in developing) their awareness of the Instrumental Activity of Daily Living (IADL).
