In terms of the former, we consider the process of reading (i.e., the grasping of connections) as it relates to the function of description, as well as the types of prose development involved in forming knowledge. As for the latter, we look into the matter of the reader' s ability to respond (i.e., the grasping of connections) in line with the function of description, in addition to the reader' s basic language abilities and state of knowledge prior to reading.
