| 内容記述 | 近年、保健医療現場において医療専門職の受ける職場暴力が、患者への医療サービスの成果や看護者の離職にも影響を及ぼしていることが、多くの国で認識されるようになっている。本研究では、わが国の医療機関において看護者が患者から受ける暴力の実態と看護者の特性による違いを明らかにすることである。職場暴力の内容、頻度、状況、暴力への認識および属性などに関する無記名自記式の質問紙調査を実施した。調査の結果、3549名の看護者から解答があり、過去1年間に患者から身体的暴力を受けていた看護者は55.5%、脅かしや誹誘、中傷などの言語的暴力を受けていた看護者は26.0%、性的暴力を受けていた看護者は14%であった。身体的暴力については、内科病棟、ICUや救急救命部門、高齢者病棟、混合診療科病棟、外科病棟で、69.0%から76.0%と高い割合で発生していた。従来、精神科病棟に勤務する看護者は攻撃や暴力を受けやすいと一般的に考えられてきたが、本研究では、特別な病棟ではなく誰もが利用する一般病棟の中で起きているという実態が明らかになった。また、若い看護師が身体的、言語的、性的暴力いずれも有意に高い割合で受けていた。職業人生の初期の段階は、看護者としての自信をはぐくむ重要な段階であるにもかかわらず、若い看護者達がさまざまな患者からの暴力を受けていた。この実態をふまえ、暴力に対する効果的対策について検討した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | In recent years,workplace violence in health care settings is increasingly acknowledged to be a significant problem related to both the retention of nurses and to patient outcomes in many countries.We explore the prevalence of Workplace violence experienced by nurses in Japan from patients.This study used a descriptive,self-report survey of nurses to investigate their experience of violence in the preceding twelve months.The data from 3549 responses was analysed,and showed that 55.5% of the respondents had experienced physical assault,52.5% verbal aggression and 26.2% sexualabuse from patients.Nurses working in medical units,ICU,ER,geriatric and surgical units were at a high risk of physical assault(69-76%).It is generally believed that psychiatric nurses are more likely to be verbally or physically intimidated,but this study suggests that such incidents occur in general hospital settings rather than in any particular department.The data showed that younger nurses were more likely to have been verbally threatened,physically intimidated or sexually abused by patients.The first years of practice should be an important confidence-building phase for nurses,yet younger nurses are subjected to a variety of violent behavior from patients.We conclude that effective means of intervention should be in place to protect staff at such risk of assault. | |||||
