The proposition is presented as an in-service linguistic training for students of the Japanese language. However, it can be also applicable to teaching other languages. The method of E.S.A.I. puts more focus on emergency situations that students may encounter in an unfamiliar cultural contex. E.S.A.I. is basically role-playing instruction.
