{"created":"2023-05-15T10:11:44.507197+00:00","id":1330,"links":{},"metadata":{"_buckets":{"deposit":"db552b86-0a15-41e1-8c11-9d313ef04ec9"},"_deposit":{"created_by":1,"id":"1330","owners":[1],"pid":{"revision_id":0,"type":"depid","value":"1330"},"status":"published"},"_oai":{"id":"oai:meio-u.repo.nii.ac.jp:00001330","sets":["61:120"]},"author_link":["2906","2905"],"item_8_alternative_title_1":{"attribute_name":"その他（別言語等）のタイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_alternative_title":"“Hometown”in Life-Stories : From a case study of Okinawa Haneji Locality Club members in Hawaiʻi"}]},"item_8_biblio_info_22":{"attribute_name":"書誌情報","attribute_value_mlt":[{"bibliographicIssueNumber":"25","bibliographicPageEnd":"11","bibliographicPageStart":"1","bibliographic_titles":[{}]}]},"item_8_description_8":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"沖縄県は「移民県」と称されるように，太平洋戦争前後，多くの人々が沖縄からハワイ，北米，南米地域等へ移住した。移住先のハワイでは，沖縄県系人が相互扶助などを目的に同じ市町村出身の人々と郷友会を結成し，その活動は現在まで続いている。沖縄系の郷友会は時代と共にその活動を変えてきた。羽地地域出身者で結成されている現在の羽地クラブは，1928年に旧羽地村出身者によって羽地村人会として結成された。戦後，母県沖縄での市町村合併により旧羽地村は名護市の一部となったが，1966年に現在の羽地クラブに名称を変え，活動を続けている。これまでハワイの沖縄系の郷友会に関する研究は，郷友会での相互扶助の役割や郷友会が維持されてきた要因，さらに現在の郷友会が多元的な機能を持つようになった経緯などを分析している。しかし，これらの研究は一世，二世もしくは帰米二世を対象にし，ハワイにおける郷友会との関わりに焦点をあてている。現在のハワイの沖縄系の郷友会の成員は郷友会とどのように関わり，それと同時に母県沖縄の郷里とどのような繋がりを持っているのだろうか。本研究では羽地クラブに焦点をあて，クラブの活動への参加観察と成員へのインタビューを通して得られたライフストーリーをもとに，現在の郷友会に所属する二世，三世，そして次世代の人々が，家族の歴史や個人的な経験をもとに，郷友会との関わりを続けつつ，郷里との繋がりを持っていることを明らかにした。","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"The primary goal of this paper is to illuminate how members in an Okinawan locality club in Hawai'i maintain ties with their hometown in Okinawa while engaging in club activities in Hawai'i. The main focus for existing studies on Okinawan locality clubs in Hawai'i has been on the first and second generations and how mutual support played an important role for them, and how club maintenances and functions became available for these generations in Hawai'i. While these studies have contributed to the understanding on how Okinawan locality clubs in Hawai'i were formed and how club activities and membership engagements changed in the course of history, they have failed to inquire into whether or not club members of different generations have maintained ties with their hometown in Okinawa while engaging in club activities in Hawai'i. Through participant observation and life-story interviews which the authors conducted in Hawai'i in February 2014 and March 2015, this paper shows that the second, third and fourth generation of Haneji club members have maintained ties with their hometown in Okinawa while engaging in club activities in Hawai'i.
