Subjects in this research were three elderly persons who attended health promotion activities on a regular basis and agreed to participate in the research. Interviews were conducted with them to examine what motivated them to attend the health promotion activities, what they personally did to maintain their health, what effects the activities had on their health and also their desire for the activities. The results of this research showed that the elderly persons using the health promotion activities were highly conscious of maintaining their health, enjoyed the measurement results and made good use of advice they received from professionals in seeking their own method to stay in good shape. It was also clarified that the health promotion activities were conducted not in a hospital but in a community-based public hall, where morning markets were held, so that they could interact with their friends (by greeting, caring about and talking to one another)Moreover, it was revealed that health checkups were effective in such a relaxing atmosphere, in order to share information regarding health promotion. Above all, it was confirmed that through the health promotion activities, which we had been continuously engaged in, local residents said that our university was “a community-based university, so that they felt close to us.” This fact encourages us as supporters of the elderly health and also contributes to implementing health promotion activities that we have to cooperate with the local residents. In conclusion, the study results suggested that in order to “increase the number of users,” in the future we need to publicize our activities and also act in accordance with the users’ demands, including “continuation of the health promotion activities.”, application/pdf}, pages = {71--77}, title = {沖縄県北部地域の高齢者を取り巻く健康支援に関する研究 : 高齢者へのインタビューを通して}, year = {}, yomi = {ながた, みわこ and さわだ, しげのぶ and よしおか, もえ and あにや, ゆうこ} }
