A semi-structured interview was conducted with an association representative and the data was analyzed using qualitative integration (KJ method). The extracted results were: motive for running an association; ideals relating to running an association; situation of associations in other prefectures; situation of associations in Okinawa; difficulties in running an association; demands relating to running an association. The interviewee’s motive for running the association was a suicide in the family, and he participated in a government-sponsored suicide surviving family association, but the ideal relating to running an association was for the parties concerned to be involved in creating their own forum. Looking at “situation of associations in other prefectures”, a wider network results in more participants, but for “situation of associations in Okinawa”, concerns about confidentiality cause participants to hesitate, and the collaborators experienced “difficulties in running an association” in the form of feelings of powerlessness relating to the lack of growth in member numbers. Therefore, rather than leave the running up to the parties concerned, one “demand relating to running an association” was active government involvement. The interviewee founded an association independently, wishing to provide a different kind of support than that offered by government-sponsored associations, but clearly experienced difficulties in running the association and came to desire active government involvement. This suggests the need to provide support based on a full understanding of the needs of suicide surviving families who run associations., application/pdf}, pages = {117--130}, title = {自死遺族会を立ち上げた自死遺族の体験と求める支援 : 自死遺族1事例の語りの分析をとおして}, year = {}, yomi = {しんざと, みちこ and すずき, けいこ} }
