Methods: A comprehensive analysis was performed by an integrated qualitative method (KJ method) using 86 cards created with the card making method by five groups (29 students)as a summary of the practical training. Results: As “the power of children during hospitalization,” children “relieve stress by playing.”As “relationships with children during hospitalization,” nursing students felt “difficulty in respecting the human rights of children and responding to individuality” and “their own immaturity out of a lack of confidence and shortage of skills.” Additionally, they learned the importance of “intervention by family assessment” as a way to “adjust care for the children” and “building relationships with the patient’s family” as a way to “help care for the children.” In addition, students mentioned that it was important to “understand the characteristics of children for comprehensive judgement based on knowledge and skills” as“ away of pediatric nursing. ”Discussion: It is necessary to consider the most appropriate teaching methods to make students’ experience significant and to lead to profound
