（文科省，2017） は，中学・高校では英語のみで授業を行うように求めている。英語教員は求められている英語能力基準を達成し，教室英語を効果的に使用できるようになることが急務である。本研究の目的は，２つあり，関連研究を通して授業における教師の英語スピーキング能力が何であり，どのように話されるべきかを検証することと，実証的研究を通して中学校教育実習の前後で英語使用の自信度がどの程度変化するかを調査することである。Willisのリスト （1981） やELTeachプロジェクト （Freeman， et al.， 2016），山森 （eg.，2007b） による一連のFORCEプロジェクトは網羅的な教室英語例を提供し，英語教員養成課程や現職教員研修に実用的な示唆を与える。加えて，本研究では英語教員養成課程の16人の教育実習生を対象に実証的研究が実施され，Gu and Papageorgiou（ 2016） から採用した自信度チェックリスト（ 27項目）を用いて３つの回答選択肢で自己評価した。調査結果は，ほぼ全員の調査参加者（ １名を除いて） が教育実習後に英語使用の自信度が増加した。しかし，研究の予想とは反対に教育実習中の授業時間数と自信度レベルには弱い相関関係 （ピアソン R=0.17）
