 note = {沖縄県名護市屋我地島沖のウフ島に棲息するドバト（ハト）の飛翔行動を観察し，また個体数を推定した。ハトの棲息が確認されたのは，ウフ島を除くと11島中3島であった（ただし2～4羽のみ）。2004年12月22日，ウフ島と屋我地島の間を飛翔する個体数を12時間観察した結果，ウフ島には800羽～1,000羽が棲息することが明らかになった（滞留する個体を除く）。ウフ島から屋我地島以外への移動は見られなかった。飛翔開始時間は，ほぼ日の出時刻に一致した（日の出時刻：夏至は05:38，冬至は07:13）。飛翔終了時刻（冬至）は17:50であった。ウフ島は，石灰岩性の複雑な構造の小島のため，ハトの就眠や営巣に適していると考えられる。12月22日の観察時に，ハヤブサが数回ウフ島のハトに接近するのが見られ，その際，多くのハトが屋我地島へ移動した。ハトの主な採餌場所は，屋我地島済井出西側の豚舎であり，採餌後ウフ島へ帰っていくことを確認した。, A counting survey was conducted to investigate the number and movement of domestic Pigeons on Ufu-jima, a small islet off Yagqji Island, Nago, Okinawa, Japan. Although there are more than ten islets around Yagaji Island, a small number of pigeons (two to fbur individuals) was observed on only three islets surveyed except for Ufu-jima. The population of domestic Pigeons was estimated at 800-1,000 on Ufu-jima based on the number of pigeons moving between Yagaji Island and Ufu-jima. Pigeons started to fly to Yagaji Island at O5:38 (summer solstice) and at O7:13 (winter solstice) in the morning, and most pigeons returned to Ufu-jima at 17:50 (winter solstice). pigeons got some food only from the pig farm at Yagaji Island, 1,600m from Ufu-jima. Ufu-jima, consisting of a complicated system of lime rocks, was considered to offer suitable resting and nesting sites. When a falcon approached and flied around Ufu-jima, numerous pigeons flew away from Ufu-jima, and some of them moved to Yagaji Island.},
