Also, the government is striving to attract foreign tourists to Okinawa. However, the questionnaire results showed that workshops, materials, instructors and curriculum construction regarding foreign language education are not well taken care of. In addition, the results showed that Chinese and Korean language abilities of the staff were very low, while English ability of the staff varied. Although most companies admit a strong need of staff with foreign language abilities, this was not considered regarding recruiting and deciding on salary for staff.
