| 内容記述 | 本稿は，日本における台湾研究の理解につなげることを目的として，戦前・戦後の台湾教育史をめぐる研究動向とその変遷について論じるものである。教育史に限らず，台湾史研究の特殊性は，1945年を境としてそれ以前が国内史，それ以後が外国史として扱われることにある。戦前は日本統治がもたらした「文明化」としての教育近代化の成果を誇示するものであった他方，戦後はかつての植民地教育が，天皇制に基づく国家主義の下での異民族に対する民族性剥奪の教育であったとして批判される傾向にあった。とはいえ，第一，第二世代の研究者を経て，第三世代の研究者の登場や，1987年の戒厳令解除に伴う日本統治時代をめぐる歴史観の見直しという台湾内部の変化を受けて，日本の学界においても日本統治時代の教育を，「抑圧―被抑圧」の二項対立だけでなく，統治された側の主体性の点に着目して再検討されるようになり，研究の枠組みは大きな転換を果たすこととなった。本稿では，それら第一世代から第三世代の研究者の成果を紹介しながら，「制度から人へ」，そして「支配―被支配」から「台湾人の主体性」へと変容を遂げていった日本の台湾教育史研究の変容と回顧を概観したうえで，今後の研究についても展望を試みる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | In this paper, I would like to briefly review the transition of the research trends and analytical frames regarding the History of Taiwanese Education in Japan, from the Pre-WWII Period to the present, mainly by reviewing the most important book publications during the period. The scholarship on the History of Taiwanese Education can be divided into two periods: one is the Japanese Colonial Era from 1895 to 1945, and the next is the Republic of China Era from 1945 to the present. The turning point came after the lifting up of martial law in Taiwan in 1987, when Kuomintang's historical view of an anti-Japanese narrative began to accept more moderate and objective views in the evaluation of the past Japanese rule. This change in historical discourse in Taiwan had also influenced trends in Japanese academic circles. Gradually, new research and publications came to focus and underscore the importance of the subjectivity of the Taiwanese people during the Japanese Colonial Era, rather than the long dominant framework which often presupposes a binary opposition between the colonizer and the colonized, oppressor and oppressed. | |||||
