内容記述 The aim of this study was to create an automatic 3D representation of a multidimensional database saved in a spreadsheet. Generally this can be used as an interactive information browsing / mining system. The representation that was achieved allows intuitive onscreen interaction with simple 3D objects that represent database elements. After moving these elements around the virtual space, the new arrangement is saved in a form that can be loaded back into the original spreadsheet with a macro function. The framework developed can be extended to portray diverse data as complex shaped, coloured or animated 3D objects, with multiple graphic-textured faces, and the ability to convey associated audio and video data interactively. This should improve the human data mining process considerably. As a realistic target for testing the system, a greatly improved timetable template was constructed for managing the term schedule for 1600 students and 536 subjects at Meio University, Nago. The dual purpose was to provide a unified, bilingual format for the present system and expand it to cover all subjects. This enables advanced applications such as online registration and grade assignment in the near future.
