| 内容記述 | 沖縄県庁と沖縄県民は長い間、沖縄の米軍基地の返還とその跡地の利用のしかたについて模索してきた。隣国のフィリッピンは、1991年に、新しい基地協定の批准を否決することで、フィリッピンから米軍基地を撤去することに成功した。いま、かっての重要なスービック海軍基地、クラーク空軍基地跡を自由貿易地域として活用する大プロジェクトを建設している。フィリッピンのケースを分析して、沖縄の将来の基地返還と跡利用のヒントを探すことが、本論の目的である。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The Okinawa Prefectural government and Okinawan citizens have searched for the best way to move U.S. military bases from Okinawa and also devise appropriate designs for conversion of the post-sites of the military bases. This has been an important assignment for both the prefectural government and Okinawan citizens. The Philippine government and Philippine citizens succeeded in not extending the presence of the military bases on Philippine territory by denying in 1991 a new treaty for continuation of the U.S.- Philippine bases. The Philippine government and Philippine citizens have been constructing free trade zone projects on the sites of former major U.S. bases - Subic Naval Base and Clark Airfield. It is a likely model for Okinawa. Therefore, this paper offers an analysis of the two free trade zone projects with an eye to finding ideas to apply to Okinawan projects in the future. | |||||
