| 内容記述 | 本研究は，エリザベス・サール・ラムが中国における英語俳句の紹介に果たした役割について，主に中国人読者との交流に焦点を当てて明らかにするものである。一般的に，文化交流研究は二国間の関係が中心であり，俳句も日中文化交流研究にとって一つの重要な検討対象となる。しかしながら，1980年代以降の中国において，それは日本文化としての受容に限られるものではなく，むしろ，米国人によって詠まれる英語俳句＝「ハイク」という形態をとり，民間レベルでの交流を進展させていた過程が見受けられたのであった。中国におけるハイクの紹介は，ラムが1985年７月に中国の雑誌『英語世界』に寄稿した，北米でのハイクの広がりを紹介する文章が嚆矢であった。その後，ラムは40数名もの中国人読者から手紙を受け取ることとなる。多くは数回のやり取りで途絶えたが，なかには龔海平のように，長年の交流の末にラムのハイクを翻訳して刊行するなど，確実に交流の成果を残す者も現れることとなった。最初のラムの文章から８年後，龔海平が中国語に翻訳して1993年に刊行された彼女の句集は，1979年の米中国交樹立後の民間交流の一つの小さな成果と呼べるものであった。それは同時に，戦後東西文化交流のなかの多文化間関係の一事例でもあったといえよう。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper focuses on and reveals the role which a prominent American poet Elizabeth Serle Lamb played in introducing English Haiku in China since the mid-1980s. In July 1985,Lamb introduced the history and progress of Haiku in North America in her article in the World of English magazine published in China. It is said to be the first article to introduce English Haiku in China after World War II, and Lamb received letters from more than forty Chinese readers who read her article. Many of them lost contact with Lamb after a short correspondence; however, a few readers became sincere friends with her, exchanging letters for many years. Some of them, like Gong Hai-ping, even translated and published her English Haiku in China. Lamb’s book of English Haiku, The Light of Elizabeth Lamb, was translated into Chinese by Gong Hai-ping in 1993, eight years after Lamb had published her introductory article on English Haiku in North America in 1985. That certainly were one of the major achievements of intercultural and grass-roots cultural exchanges after the normalization of U.S.-China relations in 1979. | |||||
