| 内容記述 | This paper considers the improvement of the resolution of images containing sub-pixel detail, whether they are from home videos or satellite-based photography, by processing the information available from a number of consecutive images. To model this situation, a series of scanned images progressively displaced by a fraction of a pixel are compared, and the evolution of individual pixel values analysed. First the response of the scanner is tested for linearity. We then consider the theory of retrieving the position, width and colour of monochrome linear objects narrower than a single pixel. It is shown that theoretically as few as three images suffice to determine these three data for a sub-pixel width horizontal object, subject to certain conditions. The theory is applied to an example from the field of optical character recognition. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 人工衛星で写った写真から家庭ビデオの映像までの幅広い対象の連続した画像を分析して、解像度を上げることがこの論文のテーマである。映像をモデル化するために対象の映像を1ピクセル幅より短い微小単位で動かしながら、連続イメージをスキャナで取り組む。ピクセルの値の変化を測定し、分析する。スキャナの線形特性を調べ、単色の、ピクセル幅より小さい、線形物体の正確な位置、幅と色を連続映像から導き出す理論を考えた。この物体を決める要素(位置、幅、色)は条件により理論上3コマのフレームだけで決定することができる。印刷文字を例にとり、測定データをもとに理論と実験の比較検討を行ったのでご報告する。 | |||||
