| 内容記述 | かつて伊波普猷は、今帰仁という地名を手掛かりにして、中世にこの地域を勢力基盤とした武装集団の出自に関して独自の渡来人説を公表した。奇しくも近年の発掘調査から得られた出土史料は、押し並べて伊波のこの見解を支持する内容を具備したものとなっている。ところで伊波が唱えた渡来人説については、従来ややともすれば研究者の間でなおざりにされて来た感は否めない。それ故に、統一王朝以前の今帰仁勢力の氏素性を問う研究は遅々として進展せず、今日の状況を招いている。それはさておき、発掘された中世今帰仁勢力ゆかりの関係史料は、あまねく元朝に仕えて江南地方で活躍した西域出自の色目系騎馬軍団との関係を傍証する内容を孕んだものとなっている。本稿では、伊波の見解を再考し評価する観点から、指摘した関係史料及びそれと不可分の関係にあると判断される元朝配下のアラン騎馬兵団について考証し、従来謎とされてきた攀安知とその家臣団の民族的出自の解明を目論む。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Fuyu Iha, the founder of Okinawan studies, once made an intriguing proposal as to the origin of the military force which occupied Nakijin Castle in medieval times, He argued that the Nakijin forces consisted of a group of men originating either in the Korean Peninsula or in the mainland of China. Interestingly, the excavated items, which we can study today thanks to the series of excavations conducted so far in and around the castle, indeed suggest that the view once advocated by Iha is partially correct. However, the ethnic background of the medieval force of Nakijin reflected in this archeological record is of neither Korean nor Chinese origin, contrary to what Iha once inferred, Instead there is an apparent connection with an equestrian people of Iranian stock named Alan or As coming from the central part of Eurasia. By examining the excavated items in relation to knowledge of religious beliefs, burial customs, artistic ornamentation, popular pastimes, and military equipment, including the sword once owned by Han Anchi, king of Nakijin, this paper proposes that Han Anchi and his close subjects were descendants of the Alan cavalry unit that played a distinguished military role in southern China throughout the Yuan Era. | |||||
