| 内容記述 | 沖縄の祭祀芸能の中で，必ずといって良いほど演じられるものに「長者の大主」系の芸能がある。長者の大主とは，白髪白鬚の長者の男性が舞台に登場し，子孫繁栄や豊かな御代を寿ぐ口上を述べ，そのあと長者自身かあるいはその子孫たちの舞踊が繰り広げられる芸能である。 本稿は，この長者の大主系芸能とそれが上演される祭祀との関係について，八重山諸島竹富島に伝わる長者の大主系芸能の「アウジ狂言」を事例に検討したものである。 竹富島には，「アウジ狂言」と呼ばれる二つの長者の大主系芸能が伝承されている。一つは，種子取祭に演じられるもので，もう一つは結願祭に演じられるものである。芸能の内容や構造は，両者とも共通する。だが，狂言の中で最も重要な祈願の場面において，長者が呪詞を唱えて祈願をおこなうものと，長者が直接呪詞を唱えないものとに分かれる。本稿は，その点を一つの切り口として検討した。 その結果，祭祀にともなう長者の大主系芸能の内容・演出には，過去の祭祀現場の状況が深く関わっていることがみえてきた。本稿の事例でいえば，結願祭で男性長者が呪詞を唱えて祈願する「アウジ狂言」を演じるのは，結願祭がもともと男性司祭を中心に実施されていた祭祀であったこと、種子取祭で男性長者が呪詞を唱えない「アウジ狂言」を演じるのは，種子取祭がもともと女性司祭のツカサを中心に実施されていた祭祀であったことが背景にあった。 |

| 内容記述 | One of the Okinawan ritual performing arts that is always done is the “Tyoja-no-uhusyu.” In the “Tyoja-no-uhusyu,” a white-haired and white-bearded male elder appears on the stage and describes the prosperity of his offspring and his productive reign, followed by a dance of the elder or his descendants. This paper examines the relationship between the “Tyoja-no-uhusyu” performing arts and the rituals in which they are performed. The example is “Auji-Kyongin,” which belongs to the performing arts of “Tyoja-no-uhusyu,” transmitted to Taketomi Island in Yaeyama. Taketomi Island has passed down two classical types of the “Tyoja-no-uhusyu” called “Auji-Kyongin.”One is to perform at the “Tanetori-sai（種子取祭）” and the other is to perform at the “Kitugan-sai（結願祭）.” The content and structure of the classical performing arts are the same. However, the most important prayer scenes in Kyongin can be divided into those in which the elders pray with magical words and lyrics and those in which they do not speak magical words and lyrics directly. This paper analyzed that distinction. As a result, it became clear that the past ritual situation was deeply related to the content and direction of the elders’ performing arts. First, at the “Kitugan-sai” performance of the “Auji-Kyongin,” the male elders pray with magical words and lyrics. This is because the “Kitugan-sai” was originally a ritual that was conducted mainly by male priests. At the “Tanetori-sai” performance of the “Auji-Kyongin,” male elders don’t speak magical words and lyrics. This is because the “Tanetori-sai” was originally a ritual centered on the female priest Tsukasa. |
